29765 CIVIL WAR BURNSIDE PERCUSSION U.S. CAVALRY CARBINE CIRCA 1863-4. ($1950)

CIVIL WAR BURNSIDE PERCUSSION U.S. CAVALRY CARBINE CIRCA 1863-4. .52 caliber 21” barrel. All original and matching in the 23xxx serial range. Very good plus example with crisp metal with original faded blue evenly mixed with patina on barrel and dark case hardening on frame. U.S. Ordnance inspector’s acceptance stamps on major parts. Stock with old worn finish but quite nice looking. Very faint dark impression where cartouche was. Working order and good bore. Old stamped name “EVANS” below serial number on frame. Many used in the Trans-Mississippi theater by Union Cavalry during the Civil War including the Texas U.S. Cavalry Volunteers. Nice original Burnside at a reasonable price.
